Dwarkadhish Temple

Dwarkadhish Temple
The Temple is named after Lord Krishna, as he was called Dwarkadhish meaning the King of Dwarka. A popular tourist destination, the Dwarkadhish Temple has 5 stories with the main shrine supported by 72 pillars. The main shrine is reckoned as Jagat Mandir or Nija Mandir. According to archaeological findings, the main shrine is 2,000 - 2,200 years old. The rest of the temple was enlarged in the 15th- 16th century. The temple is a Pushtimarg. Therefore, guidelines and rituals created by Shree Vallabhacharya and Shree Vitheleshnathji are followed here. The temple is a sight to behold and is a place of great spiritual significance.


Nageshwar Temple

Reckoned for being amongst the 12 Jyotirlinga shrines mentioned in the Shiva Purana, the Nageshwar Temple is a Hindu pilgrimage site. It is said to be the first shrine established of the many. The temple is situated between the route of Dwarka city and Beyt Dwarka Island in Gujarat. People from around the world come to visit the temple that is believed to enshrine one of the 12 swayambhu (self-existent) jyothirlingas in the world, in an underground sanctum. The temple is home to a 25 m tall sitting statue of Lord Shiva along with a wide spread garden and a pond.

Located in the beautiful city of Porbandar - a sea side town of Gujarat, Kirti Mandir happens to be the birth place of Sri Mahatma Gandhi. It is the main attraction for tourists and was built by Shri Nanji Kalidas and Shri Purushottam Mistry. The place is greatly renowned for its mythological associations as Sudana, lord Krishna’s classmate, resided here. Hence, Porbandar is also called as Sudanapuri. The temple has a huge memorial of Mahatma Gandhi and people from different places pay homage to it. The temple has an extravagant praying hall where all sorts of prayers are regularly conducted.

Sudama temple is situated in the city of Porbandar in Gujarat state. Sudama is the childhood friend of lord Krishna and there are many famous tales of their friendship. The museum within the fort called the Junagarh Fort Museum was established in 1961 by Maharaja Dr.Karni Singhji under the control of "Maharaja Rai Singhji Trust". The Museum exhibits Sanskrit and Persian manuscripts, miniature paintings, jewels, royal costumes, portrait galleries, costumes, headgear and dresses of gods’ idols, enamelware, silver, palanquins, howdahs and war drums. The museum also displays armoury that consists of one of the assorted collection of post medieval arms.
